Mohammad Khalkhalian was born on October 29, 1983, in the Darrous neighborhood of Tehran. He embarked on his acting career at the age of thirteen with his role in the TV series “Memories,” directed by Dariush Moaddabian, where his passion for acting first took shape. Khalkhalian continued to appear in other series such as “The Last Bell,” directed by Nima Fallah, and “Free Downfall,” directed by Alireza Amini. Expanding his artistic activities to Germany, Khalkhalian began his career on stage and worked as an assistant director in the project “Burns” under the renowned German director Mirko Borscht. He first showcased his acting skills in “Die Schutzbefohlenen” (The Wards), a play written by Elfriede Jelinek.
He gained further recognition for his performance in “The Inbetween Speech,” for which he was awarded Best Actor at the Maxim Gorky theater Festival in Berlin in 2016. He also collaborated with well-known director Sebastian Kreir on the project “A Streetcar Named Desire.” Besides acting, Khalkhalian has also engaged in writing and translating books about classic film actors, notably publishing a book titled “Grace Kelly: From Philadelphia to Monaco, A Dreamy Journey.” He is recognized as one of the successful Iranians abroad.
